Drama class

In drama class, our guiding principle is to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore the wonderful world of acting, whether they have dreams of entering the profession or simply wish to use the performing arts classes to learn some valuable life-enhancing skills and gain confidence.

We encourage team work, self-expression, confidence, communication, discipline, respect and fun.

Students are taught confidence building techniques through the form of drama based games and the studying of monologues, duologues and poems in preparation for festival participation and LAMDA examinations.

Students are also taught audition technique. A very important and valuable part of a performance led class especially if your child wishes to follow into the performing arts as a career choice.

Here is a brief overview of some of the LAMDA exams that the Students may take:

Please click on the LAMDA logo below for more of an insight into these examinations :

Introductory Examinations: Three basic examinations exploring poetry and conversation skills designed to introduce the exams structure.

Speaking Verse and Prose: Developing a strong speaking voice and memory skills, designed for individual candidates.

Performance Examinations: LAMDA’s performance examinations use drama to develop self-confidence, physical presence and a strong speaking voice.

Acting:  Developing a strong speaking voice and good memory skills by learning and performing monologues and duologues. Designed for solo or duologue performances.

Our Drama classes are to encourage confidence through learning whilst having fun.
